ART EXPRESS’D Had a Special Guest Visitor
On Wednesday, July 5, the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Canada 150 Signature Project, ART EXPRESS’D / ART EXPRIMÉ was host to a very special event.
Minister of Canadian Heritage, Melanie Joly visited the project and created her own artwork. Member of Parliament for Winnipeg South, Terry Duguid, and Canada Council for the Arts Board Member, Cheryl Sharfe were also in attendance. Joining our esteemed guests were children from the Orioles Community Centre.
Along with a tour of the sea-container-turned-mobile-art-studio stationed at the Forks National Historic Site, the group created some artwork of their own. Together they took part in a stenciling workshop lead by one of the artists travelling with ART EXPRESS’D / ART EXPRIME on the West route, Becky Thiessen.
It was a very fun day for all involved and resulted in some beautiful artwork!
